Connect Gmail

Let the agent answer leads that arrive by email from a shared mailbox.

Connect a Gmail mailbox and the agent handles inbound email the same way it handles WhatsApp — reading, replying, and qualifying — from Settings → Channels → Gmail.

The Gmail channel is rolled out gradually. If you don't see it under Channels, it isn't enabled for your workspace yet — contact support to turn it on.

Steps

Start the connection

Click Connect Gmail. A Google consent screen opens. Sign in as the mailbox you want the agent to answer from — typically a shared address like [email protected], not a personal inbox.

Grant access

Approve the requested permissions. Reply First stores an encrypted refresh token for that mailbox; it never sees your Google password.

Confirm it's polling

Gmail has no realtime push, so Reply First checks the mailbox every few minutes. Send a test email to the address — within a few minutes a lead appears under Chats and the agent replies in-thread.

How email leads are matched

Inbound email is matched to a lead by the sender's address. A reply threads back into the same Gmail conversation, so the lead sees a normal email exchange — not a bot in a silo.
